Here’s a sample of my media appearances:

"Cameron is a true professional and I love having her involved in my events. She comes prepared and spends extra effort engaging with the audience."- Philip Taylor, founder of FinCon

I love sharing my knowledge about personal finance with others. I’m available to speak at conferences, seminars, small gatherings and webinars. With my approachable style, I can make complex money topics easy for audiences of all types to understand. I will customize any topic with your audience in mind. I also am an experienced moderator and panelist. Groups and events for which I have been a speaker and webinar presenter include Twitter, Wells Fargo, The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, Financial Planning Association, FinCon, GreenPath Financial Wellness and The Financial Gym.

Topics I specialize in include the following:

Talking to Aging Parents About Their Finances

I literally wrote the book on this topic – Mom and Dad, We Need to Talk: How to Have Essential Conversations With Your Parents About Their Finances (Wiley, June 2019). I can explain to adult children why it’s important not to delay this conversation, help them get over their fears of having this talk and provide actionable tips on how to start a discussion with their parents and keep it going. Most importantly, I can detail what financial information adult children need to gather from their parents so they can be prepared to help their parents if they need it.

The Sandwich Generation

As Americans live longer, more and more people will find themselves caught between caring for aging parents and supporting their children. As a mom of three children and a caregiver for my own mom, I know first-hand what it’s like to be part of the sandwich generation. I’ll walk you through how to prepare financially – and emotionally – for this tug of war between caring for your parents and your kids.

Gen X Finances

It’s hard to read any personal finance publication without coming across an article about millennials and money or baby boomers and money. But statistics show that the often ignored generational middle child – Generation X – is the one that’s really struggling to get its financial act together. Gen X has more debt than any other generation, is spending billions every year helping to support adult children, and feels less prepared for retirement than boomers or millennials. But it’s not too late for Gen Xers to take control of their finances. As a member of Generation X myself, I can share how I got off to a slow start but managed get my financial act together and can offer actionable tips to help others do the same.

Help for Financial Professionals

As a financial professional, it’s your job to create detailed financial plans for clients to help them reach goals and retire comfortably. But as a numbers person, you might find it difficult to communicate to clients in a language they can understand. That’s where I can help. For more than 17 years as a personal finance journalist, I have made complicated financial topics easy to understand for the general public. I can share my strategies for explaining complex financial concepts in simpler terms to help improve your ability to connect with your clients. I also can coach financial professionals on how to become a go-to source for the media to boost your public presence and increase your credibility to attract more clients.
